Cycling Iran and Iraq (2011/2012)

Cycling Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan has been one of the most amazing and enlightening experiences of my life.  Far from being the dangerous place most western people are led to believe, Iran is the place of the warmest and kindest people I have ever met.  The kindness and hospitality of the Iranian people is legendary.  A part of my heart will always be in Iran, and I would visit their a million times over just for the people.  Its also a place boasting one of the most ancient and richest of cultures in the world and timeless otherworldly landscapes.

A man who was the security guard of a park.  He allowed us to sleep inside his office :)

Another security guard who let us sleep in this abandoned factory.

Amazing moonscape
One of the most beautiful camping spots of my trip.

Beautiful sunset over Persepolis.  Sunsets in Iran never fail.  I don't think I've ever seen as many amazing sunsets as here.

In the ancient oasis of Yazd, which some claim to be the oldest city in the world.
